The only explanation that makes any sense to me is that it disappeared because it traveled through time. There wasn't any extra sounds it was just there one moment and gone the next in perfect formation below three Chinook helicopters that were in perfect triangular formation (of course unmarked with no insignia or numbers at all and painted Grey). So, there were no numbers or even a military branch to trace the Chinooks. Then they headed down Highway 89 traveling about 3000 feet in elevation above the ground which would make them 6000 to 7000 feet total altitude because Mt. Shasta City is at about 3500 feet in elevation. The headed towards Nevada and possibly then Area 51 or other bases in Nevada I'm thinking. But, in reality, who knows?
The point I'm making is what I saw wasn't some sort of helicopter UFO but something else that could disappear out of normal time without leaving a trace.
