Though people are much better (especially in the U.S.) of hiding their racist tendencies I would like to explain what I mean here:
"Do you prefer people who look like you, act like you, think like you and believe like you to be around?"
If the answer is "Yes." Then you are an undercover racist.
However, I'm not sure this is a bad thing.
The problem then is: "What happens when you meet people different from you?"
If you have never met someone different from you often this can be a problem because you have no communication signals of what is appropriate to say or do.
And this often can result in bruised feelings, people getting beat up, or people getting killed like happens around the world every day.
So, often people in private schools and either very white or very black get into trouble and die because they think they are not "Undercover racists" and discover too late that they are and then they are dead or maimed in a second by the misunderstanding. Or more likely they just get really mad at whoever hurt them and get a gun if they survived the first encounter.
This is the way the world actually is no matter what anyone tries to tell you.
Political Correctness is a fairy tale that gets people killed around the world every day because they just aren't pragmatic enough to see the truth. So, when you go into another culture either here in the U.S. or around the world "Please know enough about what you are getting into to physically and emotionally survive it."
So, are you OKAY with people being different than you. If not, you might be in trouble. Because tolerance is more important than agreement.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
