Sky Dragon

Once there was a child in ancient China that sat every day waiting for his father to return from an awful war. Sometimes he heard his mother cry in her room late at night. Where he lived was very beautiful and seemed like a dream with a lake and a river with a view of the river flowing into the lake. All was serene and tranquil except his father was gone and he didn't like hearing his mother cry every night. Also, his father would take him riding on horseback. His mother didn't ride as she wasn't a person to do that. She was devoted to he and his father and she tried to pretend that everything was okay when it wasn't. So, the boy longed to see his father once again to make everything right in his life and his mother's life.

One night he was crying in his room because he heard his mother crying too. His sobs drew her near and she said to him, "You need to pray to Golden Sky Dragon to bring your father home like I do. I visualize your father riding home on the head of Golden Sky Dragon with his horse held gently in the claws of sky dragon so as not to hurt his horse."

The boy thought that this was a great idea because at least now he had something he could do to make his father safely return. So, day and night he visualized Golden Sky Dragon flying home with his father safe and his horse safely held in Golden Sky Dragon's claws as they flew across the sky here to their beautiful home on the river near the lake.

One day he walked out the door feeling something special was changing in his life. His father he saw in the distance slowly riding home on his horse. Father had a sling on his arm because he had been wounded in the war but he faithfully was riding his horse to his son. The boy ran as fast as he could to his father and his father greeted him with tears in his eyes so he knew whatever had happened had been very hard for his father to survive. But, with his good arm he slung the boy up on the saddle with him. As the boy looked up into the sky the sunrise had made the Golden Dragon Cloud Gold.

The boy would always remember to pray to Golden Dragon when times were tough. Golden Dragon would Always be his friend because he had brought his father home safe from war.

As they rode up to the house his mother dutifully waited for her husband and son there. When his father hugged his mother she fainted from everything she had had to endure without her husband there. They were all very happy again after that as the boy grew up to manhood.
