But, when people are running is one of the times they might attack a human being if the human were not too big. They prefer to attack from behind and to bite the victim at the back of the neck while it is running before it notices them. But obviously, the jogger saw the lion before it attacked him. It makes me think that the lion was either young or old and either not used to hunting much or at the end of it's ability to hunt to continue an attack on a human male. Something was seriously wrong with this lion to do this.
A Mountain lion, or any wild animal doesn't want to be injured at all because this could easily be fatal in the long run to a mountain lion, bear or other apex predator. So, making a kill without being injured at all is the primary directive of a wild animal like a mountain lion or a bear or other apex predator.
So, like I said this is first very unusual that a mountain lion would ever attack an adult male that could potentially defend himself. And also very unusual that the mountain lion continued it's attack even when the adult male human began fighting back. So, something was seriously wrong with the lion to begin with or the adult male human would not have survived this encounter without a spear, or knife or gun of some sort.
But, it is also true that the human was also seriously injured in his face and arms and hand and had to have 30 stitches total to close up these wounds before he bled out and died from his injuries.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
