Why? Because it might get too hot where they live to do anything else. So, people might come out at night during the summers and stay underground or sleep during the hottest parts of the day. For example, The Siesta that I believe came from Spain is where people take a nap because of the heat in the afternoons which is a part of the culture now of Spain and much of Mexico and Central and South America as a direct result.
