This is not an easy choice. But, for me, I can say I'm still alive because I gave up all gluten in Wheat, Barley and Oats. (However, it is possible to buy gluten free oats to make oatmeal and oatmeal cookies).
By giving up all gluten about 1 1/2 years ago now I lost the first week 80% to 90% of my pain. I'm now 66 and something usually has been hurting 24 hours a day on my body since I was about 32 years of age. So, giving up all gluten reduced my body and muscle and joint pain to where it was when I was about 28 years of age which is amazing.
The downside is I can't eat at my favorite pizzeria anymore because the crusts are made of wheat gluten dough. I can't have many choices at a restaurant because I can't eat anything with wheat in it at all.
Also, I'm not just one of the people that wants 80 to 90% less pain in my body I'm actually allergic to gluten. But, not enough to kill me up until now.
So, would I rather be pain free like I was at 28 or be in so much physical pain I want to die? I think you get the picture.
There is no real choice here. I'd rather be pain free like I was at 28 so no more gluten for me.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
