Yes. There still are and were in 1983 Valley Girls who thought and still think like this even today.

This is sort of a silly movie my wife and I thought as we watched it. Many times we had to fast forward it because it was sort of too much to watch 31 years later because much of it is very time sensitive to that era like many movies of this genre are.

It is one of Nicolas Cage's first movies and he is very young in it and hasn't got his teeth fixed yet and seems relatively innocent as an actor which is kind of fun to watch. And you can see even in this movie that he will have a future as an actor like he has had.

I found myself relating more to Deborah Foreman's parents in this movie the most who owned a health food store and had been to Woodstock because I was about their age then in 1983. I was 35 then. Also, my older kids were then 9 to 12 years of age so they were younger than this group by at least 5 years at that time.
