Truth, it appears is a lot like pain when you spread it all over not only all mankind but over all beings and creatures. What is truth to one being is not truth to another. What is pain to one being often isn't even pain to another. So what is truth and what is pain?
It appears that each person in each moment must define both and that it is a constant struggle for many to define both or either in their lives. So to try to force one's truth on another is not only not useful it also can be dangerous as well. It is sort of like this: "You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink." All beings are like this. So if you try to force any being to do anything whether it be baby, child, teenager or adult, you are bound to fail. The best that one can do is to set a good example. So, if you want to get a horse to drink you might have to drink yourself. The only problem with this is that often the water your horse drinks might give you giardhea or dysentery so this might not work.
So, like I said, the only way to convince anyone or anything is by example. And even then sometimes people of all ages will follow the example and sometimes they won't. This is just the way life really is.
