It is was the kind of conditions I often dream about. Your skis only go in two or three inches into the snow but no further and yet if you fell the snow would give like you fell on a feather bed or regular spring bed. Perfect conditions! You are happy gliding through it and you are happy even if you fall for some reason because the snow is so forgiving today. My bindings were perfect (only had to put skis on once) and I never fell all the way down. I couldn't believe how hot it was this early in the year though.
This might mean that snows could be melted off the Cascades, Trinities and the Sierras by July this year though so this wouldn't be good for people who depend on that snow pack for drinking water later in September through December south of Redding all the way to Mexico. The high today so far right now is 79 which it is where I am right now in Mt. Shasta city here around 3:30 pm PDT.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
