I was listening to Bill O'Reilly being interviewed on Letterman on his late night show. Normally I have a different point of view than O'Reilly but in regard to history and in regard to drones I found him interesting in what he had to say. He was saying how the Liberals were really against waterboarding but not against killing terrorists by drones and how he found that interesting. Letterman asked what is driving the use of drones. O'Reilly said that not sending U.S. soldiers in to be potentially killed is driving drones. This is less expensive both for the U.S. (in lives)(though more expensive potentially in the technology of building and sending drones in). But what Americans want is less U.S. lives lost both here and abroad. So, this is why drones are winning in the U.S. War on Terrorism even though it often causes enemies created on the ground when collateral killings happen of people who completely or relatively innocent die in Hellfire missile blasts. Because often when a missile is sent in 25 or more people die and only one person was targeted who was likely an Al Qaeda, Captain, General or Lieutenant and such. So, we lose less people but on the ground more people there who were innocent or relatively innocent are killed in collateral damage.
But since Americans don't hear much about this they don't react much to this news. Because at least American diplomats and soldiers aren't dying. So this is the actual thing that happens.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
