How are meditations, mantras and prayers useful?

We have a conscious mind but also a subconscious mind. Because of this, if we don't manage what our brains receive in stimulation we get PTSD, get crazy and kill or commit suicide eventually. So, finding ways to manage the craziness from traumatic experiences becomes what saves us in the end.

Prayers when you believe in God act like a parent reassuring a small child when danger is near. Without some way to comfort the 2 year old in each of us, people often turn to alcohol or drugs or sex but none of that is a permanent cure because each of those things are temporary and with alcohol or drugs causes further imbalances in the mind which can result in serious chemical imbalances that can never be fixed when too much alcohol or drugs are used. And what is too much? This depends upon the constitution of each person individually. So, for some, one drink was too much. or one drug use was too much.

So, reassuring the 2 year old in each of us is what we have to do. So learning to PARENT ourselves is what becomes important so we don't get hysterical and crazy one day and end it all or someone around us without good reason.

So, Meditations and mantras and prayers are all ways to focus the mind away from the insanity of the world. It is a way to lessen the impact of traumas over time and to calm the inner child within us to help reassure it so it doesn't take control of us and make us jump off a cliff (literally) or (Push someone else off a cliff (Literally) either of which often is the end of us.

So, learning self parenting through Meditations, mantras and prayers heals the damage done by our real life traumatic experiences from conception onwards throughout our lives.

By God's Grace
