About 10,000 structures in San Fernando Valley near 101 are in danger of Burning up this week because of conditions
Listening to the weather forecasters this week sounds a lot like what happened with the Thomas fire last year (2017) which when the rains came killed 25 people in a mud and rock slide in Montecito near Santa Barbara. This time the problem is basically ANYTHING still smoking and not out completely of which there are literally thousands of places like this right now between 1000 oaks and Malibu. But, the problem is the hills next to 101 as you come over from Las Virgenes Canyon Road which intersects with 101. The hills between there and the major population areas. So, if you look up Woodland Hills, Canoga Park, West Hills and Bell Canyon on Google maps, these are some of the areas in danger depending upon how high the winds get. So, you could see for example, a fire coming off the hills there next to 101 where it enters the Valley where Woodland Hills is and then burning across thousands of homes then up over the coastal range all the way to the ocean somewhere like Santa Monica or Pacific Palisades. This is the danger now because it already burned from north of 101 in 1000 Oaks to Malibu and burned homes right into the ocean off the cliffs there. This is very unusual by the way for ANY fire to do this. Because of this and many other factors this week could be horrific for the whole Los Angeles Area to deal with because of the dryness and the high winds between 50 to 70 miles per hour blowing out to sea from the deserts in a Santana sequence of Winds.
