Hawaiian History

Just like the idea of Troy came from the Illiad originally by Homer and then was discovered to be an actual place in the 20th century, likewise much of our prehistories around the world come from legends and stories and the verbal lineage that many countries and nations and cultural groups have used to bring down ancient memories into the present day.

While My wife and I and two daughter were visiting Maui my wife met a local Hawaiian who told her that according to Hawaiian verbal lineage traditions that the group on Easter Island was one of the groups of people from  Tahiti who left to settle elsewhere. So, they left the Carved stones facing towards South America to tell the Hawaiian group where they had gone after being on Easter Island several generations and waiting for the Hawaiian group that had settled by then in Hawaii. So, according to Hawaiian verbal tradition Hawaiians were biologically related to the Easter Island people who after using up Easter Island's resources migrated to South America to better survive.
