It' s been 600,000 years since the Yellowstone Caldera went off
This is one reason why it might not go off anytime soon. People often worry about it but until this actually happens I think preparing for it but not worrying about it too much might be useful. Check the altitude you live at. If the altitude is lower than the caldera and a river of lava might head towards you from there then maybe you need to find somewhere higher to drive to then if it happens so you can stay alive. However, in the meantime it hasn't gone off in 600,000 years. For example, many places to the West and south of Yellowstone are at lower altitudes and a river of lava could go there sort of like what you saw in Hawaii. However, the lava in Yellowstone is of an entirely different makeup that won't build mountains and instead is likely going to head for the nearest lower altitude river, lake or ocean. So, imagine a literal river of lava heading to lower altitudes or pooling in lava lakes along the way might be the best way to imagine this if it ever happened. So, understanding this is how to survive this. Your land or home or city might not survive this but if you are observant you just might survive whatever happens (and your children and grandchildren too) as long as you are at a higher altitude than the river or lake of lava is if or when it goes by you.
