Yesterday after being 73 or so the day before here on the coast it reached only about 60 degrees. Today it is better as it reached 66 degrees. However, before the smoke it was predicted to be in the 70s. So, as you can see the smoke is reducing temperatures it appears from 3 to 10 degrees state wide wherever the smoke is the heaviest. Where I live it is sort of like having a solar partial eclipse all day long for 2 days now because the smoke is occluding the sun so much. I drove to the beach (about 1 mile away) and there were still tourists there but I noticed very few people over 60 or 65 there because they would have more difficulty breathing in this much smoke.
However, the other side of it was I saw many many surfers out in the water because the waves were really good too. And since most surfers are under 30 years of age they likely wouldn't care if there is smoke in the air sort of like the firemen and women who fight the fires.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
