Smoke from Paradise fire blowing into SF Bay Area

As far south as Santa Cruz the smoke is pretty bad because it is blowing out to sea over Santa Cruz up to Marin County above San Francisco. This is likely going to get worse and go down as far as Monterey and points south by the weekend. Children in schools throughout the area aren't being let outside at recess because the air quality is so bad throughout the area.

During Santana Winds they come from inland out to sea often at 50 to 100 miles per hour and this effect is taking place from northern California all the way to San Diego and further south now. So, fires likely will get worse until Tuesday or Wednesday until winds let up. The Woolsey fire near Thousand oaks is burning towards the Ocean and the Paradise fir or Camp fire has Crossed highway 99. Fire officials are very worried that Chico might have the same fate as Paradise over the weekend if the winds keep up. If the winds keep up it is possible that the fires will burn all the way to Interstate 5 by Tuesday or Wednesday.

The Woolsey fire likely will burn to the ocean. So, Malibu to Santa Monica is also being evacuated all along Pacific coast highway.

MY friend called to tell me his friend in that area has his wife and kids waiting in the ocean while he battles the fire with a garden hose at his house Near Malibu inland.
