From CNN: Iranian army involved in the retaking of Tikrit, Iraq from ISIS

If you know anything about Saddam Hussein's "to the death" war with Iran, then you also might know that Tikrit is where Saddam Hussein is born.

The fact that the Iranian Army is involved in the retaking of Tikrit is really going to rub all Sunnis who might still revere Saddam Hussein in the wrong way. It is like rubbing salt into their wounds because most of the Generals are Russian trained and Saddam Hussein Trained Iraqi Army officers from before 2003. So, the ISIS officer core is very well trained from Saddam Hussein's Army and from Chechnya in Russia.

This is really going to rub all Sunnis in a bad way especially because Shias (both Iranian and Iraqi) likely will kill all ISIS Sunnis still alive there in revenge of all the murdered Shias when Tikrit was taken by ISIS.

This is likely going to ratchet up the Shia Sunni Divide in all Middle Eastern Countries as a direct result of Iran being involved in the retaking of Tikrit.

So, exactly what Obama didn't want to happen here is happening. Because Shias killing Sunni civilians who have already survived ISIS won't set well with Sunnis around the world and likely is going to lead to even more blood shed between Shias and Sunnis in the future.

This is the all-out war that Iran and Iraq had that the U.S. prevented either side from winning.
