Of course you in snow covered areas might say, "What's the big deal?"
However, for people who live in the San Francisco Bay Area, except for spring and Fall we often deal with what I might call "Moist Cold" which sort of makes your bones and muscles ache in winters and summers.
So, when we flew to Las Vegas this type of cold left and we experienced something different which is instead of your bones aching you are now in the high desert where your skin and lips are dry so your skin feels dry and when you wake up at night even in your hotel your mouth is parched like the desert.
So, when we jumped on a plane and came back to the San Francisco Bay area 1 mile from the Ocean where we live our bodies complained and it was harder than we expected to adjust. However, you might not notice these kinds of changes as much if you are under at least 40 to 60 years of age and are young. So then, you might just take these environmental adaptations in stride. However, for me, it was more radical a change than I had expected to experience in my late 60s. So, it has taken me at least 24 to 36 hours for my body to feel normal again. At least I didn't get sick in the return process.
But, no it's not as bad as living in 100 plus inches of snow and below zero temperatures back on the East Coast somewhere or in Canada. But, if you haven't known any other climate your mind and body is somewhat adapted to all those kinds of changes too.
It is when you go to a radically different environment that you might experiences changes that you might not expect.
The most radical change I can ever remember environmentally for me was going from living on Hawaii somewhere and having to go to winter in California which I found very difficult on multiple levels both physically and psychologically when I was in my 20s. That I found to be the most difficult change of all.
That kind of change likely would be better and easier to adapt to at any age in Spring, summer or fall rather than in the winter.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
