Divided Government?

Republicans in the Senate have written a petition to Iran stating that because of our system of constitutional government any agreement with Iran by the United States will likely end with the election of the next president which of course they think will be a Republican.

So, 47 Senators applied their signatures to this document and sent it to the government of Iran.

Of course President Obama is furious because they are interfering with Foreign policy in regard to the normal channels foreign policy is normally conducted by the Executive Branch to avoid confusion with other nations.

So, in this instance it is an issue of divided government just like having Netanyahu speak before the Congress without consulting with the executive branch also was.

Also, Netanyahu might be overcome now because so many people are angry in Israel because he spoke with the Congress without consulting the President as well. Israeli politics is much nastier than anything in the U.S.
